How to use Inkwell

1. Pick a genre, or choose "Surprise me" for a random prompt.
2. Set the timer for 2 or 5 minutes.
3. Write in the distraction-free editor until the timer ends.
4. Copy your piece out to your own notes — nothing is stored on a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is my writing saved anywhere?

No. Inkwell never sends your text to a server. Copy it out before closing the tab if you want to keep it.

Will I see the same prompt again?

Not within the same week. Inkwell tracks which prompts you’ve seen recently in local storage and avoids them.

Why only 2 or 5 minutes?

Short, timed sprints lower the barrier to start. Two minutes is enough for a vignette; five for a scene.
